Abstract
To date, conventional theranostics strategies against cancer have failed to tackle the detailed information of the tumor environment. However, optimized cancer theranostics would help to deliver the correct type of therapy with minimal systemic toxicity. This task is daunting because there is considerable variation among tumors and individual patients. In this context, recent advancements in nanomedicine have been proposing novel strategies by combining biomaterials and nanotechnology to provide complex multipurpose nanosystems for cancer treatment.
