Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of an MIDP client application used for service discovery and association by means of wireless billboard channels (WBCs) in the emerging ubiquitous consumer wireless world (UCWW). A lightweight architecture, a smart personal assistance agent for communication with the iWBC content provider, an efficient object serialization mechanism and a novel user interface form container are set out. An approach towards running the WBC receiver in a flexible and intelligent way is elaborated.
