Abstract
The Global Action Plan for Physical Activity of the World Health Organization calls for the implementation of a human rights approach as a guiding principle to promote physical activity. Thus, it is unclear how a human rights perspective can be applied in the practice of physical activity promotion. This is discussed based on the example of the BIG project, an exercise program for women in the community, which is analyzed based on criteria that are established in the human rights context.
