Abstract
Exploring the excess of programming language. Technology is much more than a tool. It is a space in which society’s both implicit and explicit actions are performed and asked to be performed. Making art with technology implies an understanding of this space. It implies an understanding of code, its structure and the force of its unwritten text. A place to start this investigation is from a place that diminishes the force of the interface (GUI) and highlights the one of text. I choose the Unix Shell. With it, I developed and performed live an audio visual performance. With it, I choose to confront with a medium and force it into dialogic territories despite necessitating only literal/logical actions in order to function. What is a (programming)language?
