Abstract

Reoperative abdominal surgery mostly requires complete separation of the entire intestine and mesentery distal to the duodenojejunal flexure. This in turn requires a crystallized understanding of mesenteric, peritoneal, and fascial anatomy, and how these are altered in the reoperative context.
