Abstract

This paper brings a new insight into the formation of NO2 over Co/γ-Al2O3 catalysts during the C3H6-SCR of NO which is shown not to be formed via the direct oxidation of NO with O2. This data implies a necessary re-evaluation of the current theories on the reaction mechanism.
