Abstract

This paper* proposes a consumer-oriented Incoming Call Connection (ICC) service established on the newly proposed Consumer-Based techno-business Model (CBM). The proposed CBM-ICC service is viewed as an integral element of the technical foundation for the future Ubiquitous Consumer Wireless World (UCWW). The CBM-ICC service will offer more flexibility and intelligence for the management of incoming calls in UCWW with regard to different users' personal requirements. This service will allow users to receive incoming calls via multiple access networks/providers, and thereby be Always Best Connected and Served (ABC&S). A CBM-ICC service architecture is described along with a classification of the main generic service scenarios. Signaling for one specific scenario is theoretically elaborated and experimentally tested. Some measurement results are given.
