Abstract

To remove the interferences outside the main beam antenna array of low sidelobe level is required. There are many techniques to produce low sidelobe level. And one of them is excitation tapering at each element of the array. In this paper elements of the linear array are thinned randomly to suppress the sidelobe level using binary Genetic Algorithm (BGA). An array of linear geometry has been considered and then randomly the elements are turned ON/OFF. And the reduced results of the sidelobe level are compared with equally spaced elements linear antenna array of fifty elements.
