Abstract

Data are emerging supporting the suggestion that the human mesenteric organ is subject to the same pathologic vulnerabilities as other organs. In keeping with this, abnormalities may be classified into primary, secondary, and indeterminate mesenteropathies. Primary mesenteropathies arise in the mesentery. Secondary mesenteropathies spread to involve the mesentery through either direct or systemic spread.
