Abstract

The Questionnaire for Measuring Political Considerations in Performance Appraisal (PCPAQ) measures the extent to which distortions in ratings of job performance are present. In the original test of this questionnaire, conducted in a francophone organizational milieu, validity, reliability and undimensionality were demonstrated (Tziner et al., 1996). In the present replication, the psychometric qualities of the PCPAQ were tested in an anglophone work environment. Additional variables demonstrated the convergent and discriminant validities of the instrument. The results were consistent with the previous findings; the PCPAQ provides a reliable and valid measure of perceived political considerations affecting the appraisal process.
