Abstract

In recent years, there have been many proposals for interdisciplinary works in the field of education. However, few of them are implemented to see the effects they produce. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the effect of the Sport Education model, on the perception of learning and satisfaction of teachers and students, after an integrated unit between physical education, mathematics and Spanish language. To do this, it was used one class of 16 students of 5th grade, and teachers of the different subjects, which implemented an interdisciplinary unit over four weeks. After analyzing the interviews and questionnaires, it has been shown that teachers perceived that it is important that interdisciplinary interventions be part of an overall improvement of the learning process of students. Also they confirm that the work process must be planned collaboratively, and with constant communication, job security and sense of belonging to the school to ensure effective work. In general, both teachers and students perceived the Sport Education model as a model with multiple possibilities for interdisciplinary work, which can leads to optimal levels of achievement.
