Abstract

Emerging trends within engineering education have highlighted challenges for institutions, such as increasing cohort size, limited budgets & a demand for flexible curricula. Problem and project based Learning methodologies (PBL) have resulted within these hybrid learning environments. This research sheds light on student preferences within PBL, with an aim to improve teaching and learning for all stakeholders. Findings from this study are compared against a 2021 cohort (O’Connor et al., 2022), allowing for comparison between the online and hybrid environments. Areas of significance are highlighted, including the role of communication, module planning, dealing with conflict & flexibility in learning.
