Abstract
A simulation program is described that has the capacity to model the 'Total' communication system in operation: That is, where it consists of many earth stations transmitting and receiving one or more carriers through a multitransponder satellite while at the same time maintaining the direct analogy between the real and simulated signals for all carriers. It is very flexible in terms of system configuration and signal types. Included are descriptions of algorithms required to simulate the common amplification of signals which are widely spaced in frequency and means of isolating impairments such as multipath. Examples are given.
