Abstract
This Editorial emerges from, and in turn seeks to further stimulate, a debate on a key posture of European Management Review as a scholarly outlet, namely, the criticality of publishing with purpose. The ideas advanced are rooted in journal editorial board meetings, along with impromptu exchanges among Editors, both in meetings and on various occasions during the editorial process. They are connected to the ongoing wider debate on renewing publishing that has been the subject of attention in various management journals for some time.
