Abstract

New oxynitrides resulting from thermal ammonolysis of metallophosphates have been tested as platinum-supported catalysts in the destruction of volatile organic compounds (VOC). The total combustion of ethylbenzene over Pt/AlGaPON is observed at a lower temperature (200 °C) than over the well-known Pt/alumina catalyst. The higher activity in the case of Pt exchanged-β zeolite is probably due to the higher surface area of this catalyst.
