title = "The effect of ultrasonic setting on the mechanical properties of glass polyalkenoate cements",
abstract = "The effect of ultrasonic setting on the mechanical properties of glass polyalkenoate cements was discussed. It was observed that the ultrasonic irradiation reduced the setting time of Ketac Molar Quick (KMQ) and Fuji IX (FIXF) with command setting achieved following 45 seconds irradiation. Ultrasound also increased the compressive strength of GICs although the relative improvement was dependent on cement and maturation time. Analysis shows that the employing ultrasonic techniques to initiate the setting of dental cements allows for shorter chair time and an improved clinical technique.",
