Abstract
This is a placename-themed historical walking tour guide of the scenic Low Road between Glasson and Ballykeeran, which runs along the shore of Lough Ree. I presented the tour to a crowd of 150 people of all ages who walked the road on Sunday 23rd of August as part of Heritage Week. The event was also attended by Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran Minister of State with responsibility for heritage (Office of Public Works). The event was funded by a grant from the Commemorative Initiative, of the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, through Westmeath Co. Co., as well as local philantrophic donations, to Tubberclair Local Action Group. Photos on Linkedin here. This event was a finalist for the National Heritage Week Awards held in the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, on 17-10-25.
