Abstract

In this paper the structured singular value, μ, an analysis tool from robust control theory is used to determine the worst case effect that component tolerance can have on certain active filters. This new approach provides a repeatable and non-probabilistic upper bound on filter performance, allowing the designer to make worst case "limit of performance" comparisons when selecting filter structure, order and component ratings.
