Abstract
The detection of vibronic states in single C 60 and C 70 molecules was analyzed with the help of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Investigations show that the vibronic states were resolved due to the decoupling of the molecular electronic states from the metal substrate. The vibronic progressions had different spacings in different electronic bands of the same molecule. The results show the modulation of the conductance of vibronic coupling in charge transport through a molecular electronic resonance.
